Technology Class 4 Topics
Today in class we talked about using power point in our classroom. I think that this is a great tool to use as a teacher. They help make a great story with an outline. We also talked about copyrighting. I think that the rule that you should only use ten percent of someone else's work if you don't know if it is copyrighted. This is a good rule of thumb. We also talked about web quests. We need to decide what type of learning we want the students to do before using the web quests. A web quest is an activity where most or all of the information comes from the web.

Technology week 3
This week for my technology class we had to make a lesson plan. I did a lesson on making and using protractors for fourth grade. It corresponded with fourth grade standard four, objective one. It was fun hearing the great idea's everyone else had. I also enjoyed hearing the presentations on how technology has changed the way we learn and think.
It's a..... Baby!

Well ready or not we are going to join the parent club. Brian and I are expecting our first child at the end of December (the date has changed a few times). We are getting excited especially after we heard the heart beat last Monday. I haven’t been feeling that great but the doctor said that it will be getting better soon. Yea!

Week Two Lesson Plans and Technology

For our second week in class we talked about lesson planning and using technology with your lesson. We were able to watch an experienced teacher show us some cool things that can be done with a smart board. I have seen these used a lot during my observations at the schools and they are amazing. The students love to use them and they are very efficient. I am hoping with some practice to be able to use a smart board for many lessons in my classroom. It is important to plan your lessons but also important to remain flexible. It is ok if you don’t get to everything on your lesson plan but not okay if you didn’t plan enough and the students are left with time they are not learning.
Summer School Week One
For my technology class this summer one of our assignments is to post on our blogs each week what we learned about in class.
For our first week of class we talked about designing our own blogs as well as students in today’s world and how technology savvy they are. Last week we also had to take a teaching PE class and our teacher seemed to be really impressed with the technology that we brought to class. She was impressed with everything from the MP3 players we used to being able to type up our lesson plans in class on a laptop. It is important to be up to date on these things so that the students we teach don’t leave us in their dust.
We also had the chance to visit the Utah Educational Network (UEN) website. This is full of great resources not only for teachers but for parents as well. The website allows teachers to comment about things that they have found helpful.

Summer School
Summer school has officially started! I was very excited when I got to class last night and found out that our first assignment is to start a blog! I was even happier when my teacher said that I can keep the one that I already have. It was also great that all of the ladies that I go to school with are having to join the blogging scene. I've been trying to convince them to do this for a while now! Yea!

The Grades Are In

Final grades are in! I’m happy to say that I got four A’s this semester! With one year left of school I am getting more excited to be in my own classroom. I have to take two summer classes in June and July which shouldn’t be too bad. (Although I think summer school should be a cuss word!) Hopefully by this time next year I’ll have a job lined up!
I just wanted to post this funny picture of the other girls in the program with me. There are thirteen of us and one day they mixed up the classrooms that we were supposed to be in. The larger classroom didn’t have anyone in it and all 13 of us had to squish into a room for 5. You can't even see all of us. It was a lot of fun. Kind of smelly and too close for comfort but fun! It’s been great getting to know all these wonderful girls and I know that I will be using them as resources in my future class!(Sorry the picture isn't the best quality)

The last two weeks have been crazy to say the least! I finished school for the semester today. I have been observing a sixth grade class at Creekview Elementary. It has been fun and I feel like I learned a lot from Mrs. Manzanares and her students. I still want to teach the upper grade classes but did have a lot of fun with Kindergarten kids this year. I’m now done with school until the second week of June, YEA!! Hopefully my final grades will be available soon and as high as I want them to be.

Poor Addie!
While camping at The Jump for Easter we had to put all of the dogs in Cale’s truck because someone was riding by on a horse. (We had more dogs in camp than children lol!) It was really funny because all the big dogs just jumped out as soon as my mom walked away, but poor Addie (Cydnee’s miniature schnauzer) was the only one that couldn’t get out. It was funny seeing her peek over the side of the truck.

Easter Weekend
We were able to go camping this weekend for Easter. I was so ready to not be in class or work. My family had to gather cows from the desert so we camped at The Jump for the weekend. The weather wasn’t the greatest, but it was still fun to get out of town. Brian and I took our camper down on Thursday. Chris and Kaytee stayed with us and even though Kaytee had wicked bad allergies we had fun. It’s hard to go back to work and school today, but somehow I survived. I took my camera down but somehow I reset it to the original settings and it would only let me take 12 pictures. I’ll have to post some if I get any from Angie.

Jazz Game
Brian and I have been able to go to a few Jazz games this season. It has been way fun watching them live. I even won a twenty dollar gift card from the Fans store the last time we went. I am happy to say I have two great Kyle Korver tee shirts. I made a sign for the first game we went to and was so excited to hold it up. Unfortunately we were in the section behind the Jazz bench and a lot of the family sits there so they never put the camera on our section. Brian's Grandma Norma told me to tell Kyle Hi for her so I made one side of my poster for her. It was still really cool to sit there because the lady next to me pointed out all of the family members sitting in our section. It was way fun to go with Pudge, Lori and Travis also. Brian is a huge fan and is able to tell me about all of the players so it is way fun. My dad and I were able to go to another game with Cortni and Randon. Our seats were free so we were way excited until we got there and they were on the top row! It was still fun especially when me and Dad moved down to lower seats after the first quarter. The last game we went to Brian and I went with Travis and Lori. It was really fun because the game went into overtime and the Jazz won!

New to the blogging scene
I have recently been introduced to the blogging scene and have been really impressed. I have seen some amazing blogs from people I haven’t seen for years. Thanks to everyone for the inspiration and hopefully we can keep in touch. I love to hear about everyone’s lives and the fun stories that they share with us.
